1. What is Kingjeong Tteokbokki?
Euljiro’s Famous Korean Food Tteokbokki
Kingjung Tteokbokki is a type of tteokbokki meal kit that’s gotten really popular in the Euljiro area. This product, which took over two years of research and development to perfect, is made up of chewy rice cakes, fish cakes made with 83% fish and no flour, and a special sauce developed in-house.
The rice cakes in Kingjung Tteokbokki are super chewy and bouncy, and the fish cakes included have an impressive 83% fish content. It’s even been getting a ton of buzz in various media.
This meal kit version of tteokbokki is super easy to make, even for cooking newbies, and it’s also a hit for camping meals. A lot of people order it specifically as a camping meal kit.

Taste Euljiro’s Tteokbokki in the USA
In the U.S., there are plenty of online sites selling Korean food. One of them is SayWeee, which specializes in Asian foods. Not just Korean, but they also offer a variety of Asian foods from China, Japan, Taiwan, and more. The delivery time varies depending on your location but usually takes about two days. They’re always adding new products and often have discounts, so if a Korean grocery store is a bit far from you, check out SayWeee. The site works well in Korean too, so it’s easy to use.

3. Kingjung Tteokbokki Cooking Instructions
Kingjung Tteokbokki, being a meal kit, is packaged for easy cooking. It basically includes soft, chewy rice cakes, fish cakes made with 83% fish, and Kingjung’s secret sauce. There are two levels of spiciness: regular and spicy. The regular flavor is less spicy and sweeter than Shin Ramyun, so even kids who eat Shin Ramyun can enjoy it. The spicy flavor is about as hot as Buldak Bokkeummyeon (fire chicken noodles).
Easy Kingjung Tteokbokki Cooking Method
First, rinse the thawed rice cakes in cold running water and drain them. (You don’t have to rinse the rice cakes, but if you want a cleaner broth, give them a quick wash in cold water.)
Second, put 200ml of water in a pot and bring it to a boil.
Third, once the water starts boiling, add the rice cakes and fish cakes, and boil on high heat.
Fourth, keep stirring and boil until the rice cakes puff up, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 1-2 minutes.
For extra flavor, you can add ramen noodles, mozzarella cheese, or a spoonful of minced garlic according to your taste.
4. Kingjung Tteokbokki Review
I tried the new Kingjung Tteokbokki from SayWeee. It’s currently selling for $4.99 and comes in a regular flavor. Each pack serves about 2-3 people and includes rice cakes, fish cakes, and the sauce.
It’s super easy to cook since all you have to do is add the ingredients and boil them, making it great for a quick meal. I got the regular flavor, but it still had a slightly spicy kick to it. Also, make sure to properly thaw the rice cakes to avoid them bursting during cooking.
Even if you just boil it with the included ingredients, it tastes as good as the tteokbokki you’d buy at a store. If you want to add some extra flavor, try throwing in some mozzarella cheese or ramen noodles for a different twist.
If you’re in the U.S. and craving the taste of tteokbokki from Korea, I definitely recommend Kingjung Tteokbokki. And if you’re curious about other tteokbokki options, check out the link below.
